Gibilaro Design specialises in 18th and 19th Century free-standing fire grates in such forms as Serpentine dog grates, Sarcophagus grates, full front register grates, simple railed fire baskets and more. Our collection features rare and sought-after fire grates from the Georgian, Regency, and Queen Anne periods as well as a number of Arts and Crafts fire grates from the late 19th Century.
We stock antique fire grates from some of the most accomplished designers including Thomas Elsley, Philip Webb, Thomas Jeckyll, Robert Adam, Sir John Soane and Thomas Jeckyll.
What makes Gibilaro Design unique is that we have an in-house workshop where we restore antique fire grates to their original condition. We can do this with great precision and historical accuracy since we have over 25 years of experience working primarily with antique fire grates (restoration and building one-off commissions). The antique arm of our business is steadily expanding and we presently have the most comprehensive collection of original 18th and 19th-century fire grates in the UK.
