A Regency Sarcophagus Grate

A Regency sarcophagus grate, often referred to as a Bullock grate after the furniture maker George Bullock. The polished stepped wrought front has obelisk finials set over a wrought-iron fret and flanked by swept hob fronts. The cast-iron legs with brass acanthus and boss details are set on plinths and paw-feet. Historic repair to fire back.  Restored.  Circa 1820
