A fine Free-Standing Fire Grate in the Manner of Robert Adam

A fine free-standing fire grate in the manner of Robert Adam with a semi-circular fan-fronted fire basket adorned with harebells and interlocking circles.  The cut-steel polished front and fret are intricately engraved.  The pierced fluted fret is set between beaded mouldings.  Semi-circular shaped rivet-work grill below wrought-iron shoulders and shaped fire back with oval.   The build quality of this grate is exceptional.

Width at rear: 21 3/4″

Circa 1840.
