Decorative Aesthetic Movement Thomas Jeckyll Register Grate
A decorative Aesthetic Movement Thomas Jeckyll stove register grate in black-iron from the foundry of Barnard, Bishop and Barnards. This wide Japanese-influenced design of circular medallions with birds and sunflowers that are asymmetrically placed on a background of fretwork. The floral corner brackets sit within this surround. This grate represents the very highest quality in fine casting. The asymmetric design is typical of Jeckyll and gives a hand-built character to this early production technique. Restored.
