A fine Regency Egyptian cast-iron stove grate. The front design draws influence from Ancient Greek & Egyptian architecture. The curule legs with central medallion detailing under ball finials. Cast-iron fire grill and simple fire back. This grate possibly made by Skidmore. An image from M & G Skidmore’s 1811 ‘Design of Stoves’ plate No. 58. Restored.
