An English nineteenth century George III fire grate. The serpentine basket front with shaped fire bars and wings with oval detail, set over pierced fluted fret with beaded moulding. The faceted legs with urn feet and oval paterae sit under large urn finials. A near identical grate exists at The Kingston Lacy Estate, Dorset, owned by the National Trust.
