Late 19th century Full-Front Register Grate by Thomas Elsley

A fine late 19th century full-front register grate by Thomas Elsley. The railed basket is set on spheres over a detailed pierced fret with patera. The hob fronts demark the hob sides to the burning area with fire-brick at rear. The polished steel front surround is framed with interrupted lozenge moulding and domed roundels to corners. Plinth blocks to meet the hearth. Restored. Circa 1890
