A magnificent English 18th century polished wrought-iron dog grate. The serpentine basket front is flanked by double columns under bulbous vase finials. The fluted fret with beaded moulding is set between tapered column legs with fluted fillets. Rear elements consist of a rivet-work grill, original bevelled-edge fire back with historical repairs and wrought-iron legs.Circa 1780
