Finely Engraved 20th Century Wrought Fire Screen by C Downer

A finely engraved early 20th century polished wrought fire screen by C Downer, Campden, Glos. The fire screen with densely latticed mesh riveted to inner frame, extensive intricate engraving to surrounding structure and beautifully scrolled finials uppermost. The fire screen is supported on scrolled arched engraved supports. Charley Downer was a member of the Guild of Handicraft smiths who lived and worked in Chipping Campden. Restored.
