Early 19th Century Gothic Revival Register Grate by J Evans

An early 19th century Gothic-Revival register grate by J Evans. This exceptional register front with segmented columns between corner blocks with lion’s heads framing the pointed Gothic arch. This houses a stepped front basket echoing the arch opening detail above, set over spheres and delicate log-stops uppermost. The shaped wrought riveted fire grill sits below the maker’s plaque to rear.
