This brass grate with it’s fine cast-iron back and handcrafted brass construction is directly drawn from Thomas Hope’s furniture design. The brass fret has lotus paterae interspersed with finely cut fluting. The overall effect of this unusual grate is to imitate the shape of the Thebes chair, but serving the function of a fire grate.
