An Italian carved stone chimneypiece in the 17th century style. The pulvinated freize is supported upon a moulded architrave and surmounted by a classical, deeply moulded, cornice. The fluted jambs, of corbel form, are ornamented with boldly carved lion masks, grasping rings from which floral drops are suspended and surmounted by fluted capitals. Circa: 19th century
