19th Century Brass & Cast-Iron Panther Grate

A 19th century brass & cast-iron panther grate. The front basket with black iron fire bars is flanked by brass panthers. The ornate back plate with central oval detail and roller wheels. There is a picture of a similar grate at Woodcote Park from a Country Life article 1914. The room dates from the eighteenth century with the introduction of the grate a hundred years later. Restored.Circa 1880
