A 19th century brass & cast-iron panther grate. The front basket with polished fire bars is flanked by brass panthers. The ornate back plate with central oval detail and roller wheels. There is a picture of a similar grate at Woodcote Park from a Country Life article 1914. The room dates from the eighteenth century with the introduction of the grate a hundred years later. Restored. Circa 1880
