18th Century Georgian Polished Wrought Register Grate

A late 18th century English wrought register grate. The curved fire basket with acorn finials set over a fine fret of interlocking circles. The front surround with centre roundel, mouldings, and solid plinths to meet the hearth. Internal flanking reflector plates radiate heat and light into the room. The textured polished finish of all these elements is unique to grates of this period.
