Substantial English Polished Steel Register Grate

A substantial English polished steel register grate. The front surround consists of an iron structure overlaid steel plate. The curved mitred front surround has fielded panels framed with ornate brass acanthus leaf moulding and bespoke steel beaded moulding to the external edge. The front basket of immense proportion has two sturdy fire bars with large pinnacle finials. The shaped fire chamber with iron-grill for log burning. Fine craftesmanship throughout. Restored.
