A large polished brass full-register grate by Longden of London. This generously proportioned full-front register grate is made by and stamped Longden of London. The exceptionally wide fire basket constructed from wrought-iron, suspended on spheres and flanked by brass engraved hob-fronts, sits over a highly decorative pierced fret adorned with oval paterae and beaded moulding. The plinthed brass fire surround also features bead moulding with central engraved plaque and roundel details. Maker’s stamp to underside of front fire bar. Restored.
