18th Century English Fire Grate (SOLD)

$1.00

A large 18th century English fire grate, with delicate wrought-iron construction and a copper-seamed brass apron. The cabriole legs are characteristic of Queen Anne and Chippendale furniture; details include foilage, twist-top finials and 'ball and claw' feet. 'Ball and claw' feet represent the Chinese imperial dragon clutching a pearl and became popular in England after 1710.
